Wait, a giant upside down purple cow? Yes, the most conspicuous landmark in London’s Southbank from April to July is the huge purple cow udder that signals that the Udderbelly Festival is in town.

The Udderbelly Festival is the premier comedy festival in London. Already running for five straight years, expect to see various comedy programmes, circus acts and family shows all through its run. For the partygoers, you will be excited to know that the festival also features the biggest outdoor bar you can find in Central London. It’s the perfect place to be in for the start of summer.

This year’s festival will run from 12 April 2013 to 14 July 2013. One of the main attractions this year is the award winning show The Boy with Tape on His Face: More Tape. The show, which just ended  a critically acclaimed run at The West End will offer more of the comic situations that has made The Boy such a phenomenal sensation.

This year, the Udderbelly Festival introduces a new attraction – the UK’s first circus competition. Circus Maximus will feature twenty of the UK’s most exciting circus acts as they compete with each other and vie for the £5,000 prize and an opportunity to develop their own show with Underbelly Productions (the event organiser of the Udderbelly Festival) and Circus Space—the UK’s top centre for circus acts.
