What is the best way to enjoy a cool British summer? Watching a film beneath the stars while in London! There are many venues and events in London where you can watch new films or classics, all in the great outdoors.
One of the best venues is Film4Free at Dalston Roof Park. This awesome place in Hackney has a roof garden where it is possible to watch dramas and music documentaries for free every Tuesday.
There is also the ‘Pop Up Screen’, a fantastic event where many classical films are projected in Fulham, Shepperd’s Bush and many other locations. For only £8 you can watch films such as “The Big Lebowski”, “Zoolander” or “Dirty Dancing” in a very relaxed and unique atmosphere.
London is world famous for its historical monuments, including the Somerset House. This neoclassical building is famous for its stunning architecture. During the summer it becomes the venue for the Film4 Summer Screen. This is an unforgettable experience. This August it will host the world premiere of Richard Curtis’s “About Time”, which will be screened a month before its release.
While all these events will be a lot of fun, we must remember that it will all be held in London, which is quite famous for its unpredictable weather. So it is important to have a weatherproofed Plan B. A valid “back-up plan” could be “The Rooftop Film Club” in Kensington. This lovely venue, 100 feet above Kensington High Street, is where you can watch classic films such as “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” whilst seated under a giant umbrella.
Summer in London will have a magic touch thanks to these outdoor events.
Don’t miss them…See you in London!
